PACCAR MX-13: A longer life, by design. PACCAR designs MX engines to an industry-leading B10 life of one million miles. This means 90% of PACCAR MX engines are expected to reach one million miles without a major overhaul.

Reliability & Durability

Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI)

PACCAR was the first engine manufacturer to utilize CGI in both the block and cylinder head of a heavy-duty diesel engine. CGI commands stronger adhesion between the graphite and the iron giving the MX-13 engine greater tensile strength and superior thermal resistance. 












Poly V-Belts

Two belts separate the fan from the coolant pump, alternator, and A/C compressor. The belt prensioners maintain an accurate tension for excellent reliability and extended product life. 











Single Camshaft

A dynamically balanced camshaft made of high strength steel reduces the MX-13 engine's overall weight and complexity. The single camshaft also helps to dramatically reduce engine noise. 











Integrated Lubrication Module

The oil filtration and temperature controls have been integrated into a convenient location, improving serviceability and lowering the overall cost of operation.

The MX-13 engine design offers significant weight reduction benefits as well as maintaining an optimal mixture of power and torque to suit every drivers needs.

Low Emissions

Superior calibration combined with a high pressure fuel injection system of 36,000 PSI at the injector tip allow for complete fuel combustion. This structure helps deliver excellent fuel economy as well as low overall emission ratings. 








Fuel Saving

The MX-13 engine is optimized with powertrain components and is meticulously calibrated throughout the engine to ensure maximum fuel economy which in turn leads to less stops, less down time, and more money saved.
